PM Inspects Ready-Made Garments Factory in Minya

Minya: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli confirmed on Saturday, 31/1/2026, that the government continues to support the industrial sector as a key driver of economic growth. The Premier explained that the ready-made garments industry is a promising sector capable of creating new job opportunities and increasing export volume. Madbouli made his remarks during his inspection of the Giza Ready-Made Garments factory as part of his tour of development and service projects in Minya Governorate. He emphasized the government's commitment to providing an attractive investment environment and working on removing obstacles that hinder investors, aiming to boost the competitiveness of Egyptian products in both local and international markets. The Prime Minister also took time to have a friendly conversation with one of the workers to ensure they understood the new development plans and the benefits they are gaining from the training courses provided.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Fadel Marzouk, Chairman of the Giza Spinning and Weaving Co., said that the Giza Upper Egypt Development Company is a branch of the original company, which started operations in May 2018 with 10 production lines, employing 1,000 workers and having a production capacity of 250,000 pieces per month. He noted that the company has now expanded to 45 production lines, employing 2,200 workers, with export production reaching 800,000 pieces per month, generating export revenues estimated at around dlrs 4 million monthly.

Regarding the company's future plans, Marzouk confirmed that the opening of the third factory is expected next October. He also anticipates that the fourth factory will begin operations in October 2027, followed by the fifth factory in October 2028. This expansion will increase the workforce to 7,000 employees over the next three years and boost exports to nearly dlrs 150 million annually.
