According to State Information Service Egypt, in a statement issued on Saturday, August 1, 2026, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Egypt urged all media outlets, news agencies, and foreign correspondents in Egypt and abroad to ensure accuracy in their reporting and to rely on official sources when covering Egyptian affairs and the Damietta incident.
