Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty has congratulated Yemen's newly appointed Foreign Minister Afrah Abdulaziz Al-Zouba during a phone call on Saturday, August 1, 2026. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and supporting Yemen's stability, lauding longstanding fraternal relations between the two countries and underscoring Cairo's keenness to deepen cooperation and coordination across various fields.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the talks focused on the latest developments in Yemen, as Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's unwavering support for the Arab country's unity, territorial integrity, and legitimate government, in line with relevant international resolutions. He stressed the importance of supporting Yemen's national institutions to help restore security and stability and meet the aspirations of the Yemeni people.
The two ministers also exchanged views on regional developments and emphasized the need to continue efforts toward a comprehensive political settlement that preserves Yemen's unity and contributes to broader regional stability.
