IDSC Participates in Cairo Int’l Book Fair for 6th Consecutive Year

Cairo: The Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) is participating in the 57th Cairo International Book Fair for the sixth consecutive year, with a special focus on cultural and social issues, said Deputy Head of the IDSC's central administration, Asmaa Nour el Din, on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the IDSC participation in the fair, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Wednesday, seeks to reflect the approach of the center as well as its role in raising awareness and supporting decision-makers.

The IDSC official, in statements told MENA on Thursday that the most prominent publication by the IDSC addressing social and cultural issues is the Arab Journal of Cultural Studies. It is a semi-annual, peer-reviewed scientific journal featuring contributions from a selection of senior Arab and Egyptian writers, thinkers, and intellectuals, offering diverse perspectives on various cultural issues at both the Arab and Egyptian levels.

Additionally, the IDSC publishes a periodical focused on social issues that features contributions from top writers and experts in sociology and human sciences. 'It covers various topics, including the influence of artificial intelligence on family values and Egyptian society,' Nour el Din said.

She added that the center also issues an observatory on the conditions of the Egyptian family. The observatory serves as an important tool for monitoring various economic, social, and cultural indicators and issues affecting the lives of Egyptian families.

It assists the government in gaining an accurate and comprehensive understanding of family conditions, thereby supporting the direction of public policies and the making of appropriate decisions to address their needs with greater seriousness and effectiveness, Nour el Din said, adding noting that the observatory is prepared based on a field survey covering approximately 13,000 Egyptian households, selected according to a representative sample from all governorates of the Republic, while ensuring proper proportional representation for both urban and rural areas.
