Egyptian and Equatorial Guinean Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Issues

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, engaged in a phone conversation with Equatorial Guinea's Foreign Minister Simeon Esono to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral relations and exchanging views on pressing African issues.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during the call, Abdelatty expressed appreciation for the recent positive developments in the relationship between Egypt and Equatorial Guinea. He highlighted Egypt's commitment to leveraging this momentum to further enhance bilateral ties, focusing on mutual benefits for both nations.

Abdelatty stressed the need to boost economic and trade cooperation and encouraged Egyptian companies to participate in development projects in Equatorial Guinea. He also underscored the ongoing collaboration in capacity-building and training of national cadres through various Egyptian institutions, including the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development and the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding.

In addition, Abdelatty mentioned the preparations for the Alamein Africa Forum, set to take place in El Alamein in June alongside the African Union Mid-Year Coordination Summit. He expressed hope for the involvement of Equatorial Guinean companies in this forum.

The ministers also shared perspectives on recent developments in Africa and explored ways to support peace, security, and sustainable development on the continent. Both parties emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation to bolster joint African efforts in enhancing stability and development across Africa.
