Cairo: Paris: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met on Thursday, October 2, 2025, with senior representatives of French companies and investment funds in Paris at MEDEF, France's leading business association, to discuss economic cooperation between Egypt and France. During the talks, Abdelatty described the bilateral relationship as having developed into a strategic partnership, noting that France is currently the third-largest European investor in Egypt, with around 160 French companies operating in various sectors. He welcomed the role of French firms in major infrastructure projects, particularly in transportation.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty pointed to investment opportunities in areas such as green energy, hydrogen production, car manufacturing, ports, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence. He also underscored the potential of the Suez Canal Economic Zone and upcoming plans for a joint industrial committee to boost cooperation.
The minister also outlined reforms Egypt has implemented to improve the business environment, including new investment incentives and efforts to increase private sector involvement. Discussions with French companies also touched on regional developments and ways to expand their presence in Egypt.
The meeting came as part of Abdelatty's official visit to France, which aimed at deepening economic ties and attracting more French investment.
