Egyptian and Palestinian Officials Collaborate at Rafah Border to Aid Gaza

Rafah: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty and Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa are set to visit the Rafah border crossing on the Egyptian side. Their visit aims to review efforts to facilitate the entry of relief and humanitarian aid into the besieged Gaza Strip.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa arrived in Cairo on Saturday and will travel to the city of El-Arish on Monday, accompanied by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. This visit seeks to consolidate efforts for a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, the opening of border crossings, and the facilitation of humanitarian aid entry.

The statement from the Palestinian Embassy in Cairo emphasized that the visit underscores the State of Palestine's readiness to assume responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, aiming to establish a unified political system, law, and weaponry. It also highlights the intention to halt settlement and colonial expansion projects that threaten the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The visit is part of broader efforts by Egypt and other countries to stop the conflict, provide protection and relief to the Palestinian people, and rebuild destroyed areas. Additionally, it aims to open a political horizon for ending the Israeli occupation and establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, under the leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Accompanying the Palestinian prime minister is a high-level ministerial delegation, including Minister of Interior Ziad Hab Al-Rih, Minister of Health Maged Abu Ramadan, Minister of Planning Estephan Salameh, Minister of Social Development and Relief Samah Hamad, and Ambassador of Palestine to Egypt Diab Al-Louh.
