Cairo: Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif met with Dutch Ambassador to Egypt Peter Mollema to explore ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the education sector, particularly in technical education. The discussions also included prospects for launching new joint educational initiatives.According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting occurred on the sidelines of the sixth edition of the 'Egyptians Abroad' conference, held under the slogan 'From Everywhere. Egypt Is the Destination.' The focus was on transforming Egypt's technical schools into specialized international institutions. This transformation aims at linking graduates with training and employment opportunities in the Dutch labor market, along with advancing agricultural education curricula.The discussions also covered the exchange of institutional and technical expertise across various areas of technical education. Abdel Latif noted that the ministry has been collaborating with international partners, including Italy, Germany , and Japan, to upgrade the technical education system. A nationwide plan is underway to convert approximately 1,270 technical schools into applied technology and dual-education institutions, aligning the education model with international standards and quality benchmarks.The minister emphasized the ministry's eagerness to strengthen collaboration with the Netherlands to convert several agricultural technical schools into international centers of excellence. This conversion will benefit from Dutch expertise in curriculum development, school infrastructure design, and integrated green learning environments.
