New alamein city: PM Mostafa Madbouly met with Mr. Cedric Cremers, the CEO of Shell Integrated Gas, at the government headquarters in New Alamein City to discuss the company's activities in the Egyptian market. The meeting was attended by Eng. Karim Badawy, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Ms. Dalia Gabry, Chairwoman of Shell Egypt.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of Shell's investments in Egypt's energy sector, noting his regular updates from Eng. Karim Badawy regarding the status of these investments. Dr. Madbouly emphasized the government's commitment to monitoring payments to foreign partners and increasing production and exploration rates in various concession areas.
Mr. Cedric Cremers expressed his enthusiasm for continuing cooperation with the Egyptian government and following up on Shell's investments in the country. He noted that Egypt ranks fifth globally for Shell's exploration activities, underscoring the strategic significance of the company's presence in the region. Cremers also mentioned efforts in natural gas exploration and meeting Egypt's energy needs in coordination with the government.
The CEO emphasized the importance of Shell's investments and expressed interest in collaborating with Gulf countries to support Egypt's natural gas supply plans. The Minister of Petroleum acknowledged Shell's contributions to increasing natural gas production and expressed appreciation for the ongoing partnership, as well as the aspiration for expanded investments and modern technology applications that meet environmental and safety standards.
Ms. Dalia Gabry highlighted the company's support for local communities and the implementation of environmentally-conscious technologies.
