Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly called on heads of new urban cities to prioritize cleanliness, maintenance, and the overall image of these developments, stressing the importance of daily on-the-ground inspections and strict oversight of service contracts.
According to State Information Service Egypt, during a meeting with city officials in the New Administrative Capital, Madbouly emphasized the advantage of sufficient budgets and modern infrastructure in these cities. He urged better coordination with private developers to support community development and warned that any city head failing to meet performance targets would be replaced. He also called for innovative solutions to generate revenue, including utilizing unused land plots.
Housing, Public Utilities and New Urban Communities Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny echoed the call for visible improvements in public services, stressing the need for professional management and ongoing fieldwork. He affirmed that leadership will be assessed based on progress in areas such as sanitation, roads, lighting, and landscaping.
Officials pledged to intensify efforts in line with Madbouly's directives to maintain the modern and livable image of Egypt's new urban centers.
