Cairo: The Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service meets with the Chairman of the General Petroleum Authority to discuss ways of joint cooperation in external marketing and attracting foreign investments.According to State Information Service Egypt, a joint plan aims to increase petroleum product exports and attract new investments in exploration and research. At the headquarters of the Egyptian Commercial Service, Minister Plenipotentiary for Commercial Affairs Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, received Eng. Salah El-Din Abdel Karim Awad, Chairman of the General Petroleum Authority. The meeting comes within the framework of initiating cooperation between the two sides in external marketing and attracting foreign investments, with the aim of developing a joint plan to increase petroleum product exports and attract new investments in exploration and research.During the meeting, Eng. Salah El-Din Abdel Karim expressed the Authority's aspiration to benefit from the services of the Commercial Service and its network of offices abroad in promoting the activities and products of the Authority and its affiliated companies, and in attracting foreign investments in exploration and research. This would contribute to developing the petroleum sector, increasing production, and securing future needs of petroleum products.For his part, Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif welcomed the cooperation with the General Petroleum Authority, as the body responsible for supervising the petroleum sector. He emphasized the importance of preparing a joint action plan aimed at increasing petroleum exports and attracting new investments in priority value chains, in line with the state's direction to boost exports and attract investments.The Head of the Egyptian Commercial Service also stressed readiness to provide the necessary support through its network of 44 offices in 43 countries, to work on opening new foreign markets, facilitate B2B meetings between the Authority and its counterparts abroad, and provide the Authority with market studies, access requirements, and technical specifications in target markets.The meeting also witnessed discussions on work mechanisms and potential investment opportunities. Both sides agreed to form a joint working group tasked with studying export and investment opportunities and gaining closer knowledge of available foreign markets, in preparation for developing a joint executive program and follow-up steps to achieve the objectives.The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mohamed Fathi, Assistant to the Chairman of the General Petroleum Authority, and Minister Plenipotentiary for Commercial Affairs Alaa El-Baili, Director of the Investment Promotion Department.
