Cairo: Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting today to review the implementation status of the Knowledge City in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; Eng Raafat Hindi, Deputy Minister of Communications for Infrastructure Affairs; and Eng Khaled Abbas, Chairman and Managing Director of the New Capital Urban Development Company.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister emphasized the necessity of collective efforts to complete the construction and technical works in the second phase of the city. This phase aims to expand upon the successes of the first phase by furthering the development of innovation, scientific research, and transitioning to a fully integrated digital community. This includes offering digital services, data governance, and enhancing training and digital capacity-building.
Counsellor Mohamed El-Homsany, the official spokesperson of the Cabinet, stated that the meeting focused on the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology's efforts to build an integrated information society within the Knowledge City. The city hosts several significant institutions, including the Information Technology Institute, the National Telecommunication Institute, Egypt University of Informatics, the Imhotep Centre for Innovation and Development, and the National Academy for Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities. It was noted that while the first phase is currently operational, efforts continue to complete the second phase.
Counsellor Mohamed El-Homsany also mentioned that the meeting included a review of the plans and targeted works for the second phase of the Knowledge City.
