Cairo: Egypt issued over 4.02 million state-funded medical treatment decisions in 2025 at a total cost of LE 30.8 billion, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Sunday.According to State Information Service Egypt, the issuance of these decisions aimed to ease the financial burden on citizens and provide high-quality medical care at the state's expense, in line with presidential directives. The decisions benefited more than 2.4 million citizens across all governorates, with the coverage spanning a wide range of medical specialties. The ministry reviewed 7,010 cases via videoconferencing, enabling patients to obtain treatment approvals remotely without the hardship of travel. This measure was aimed at facilitating procedures for critical cases unable to attend specialized medical councils in person.
