Cairo: Egypt condemned on Thursday the Israeli occupation government's publication of a tender for project E1. The colonial plan, which would divide the West Bank, encircle East Jerusalem, and isolate it from its Palestinian surroundings, undermines the geographical contiguity between Palestinian territories and threatens the chances of establishing an independent and viable Palestinian state.According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement that the project represents a blatant violation of international law and relevant international resolutions, undermining the foundations of the two-state solution and the chances of achieving a just and comprehensive peace.Egypt expressed its complete rejection of attempts to entrench the status quo through illegal colonial expansion and to alter the legal and demographic status of the occupied Palestinian territories, which threatens the chances of implementing the two-state solution.Egypt called on the inter national community to assume its responsibilities and take serious and effective steps to stop these violations, stressing its commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
