Cairo: The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has launched a joint report titled 'Shared Relations: 70 Years of friendship and trust.' The report celebrates the strong and enduring partnership between the Egyptian and Japanese governments over the past seven decades.According to State Information Service Egypt, the report underscores the impact of this partnership on JICA's development cooperation portfolio, which has significantly contributed to financing pioneering projects across various sectors. These sectors include education, health, transportation, energy, and capacity building. Notable projects highlighted in the report are the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST), the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the Cairo Opera House, and the fourth line of the Cairo Metro.Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, explained tha t Egypt's collaboration with JICA, supported by various Japanese institutions, has helped form a development cooperation portfolio aligned with Egypt's priorities, Egypt Vision 2030, and the government's sustainable development program. The emphasis has been on investing in human capital and infrastructure development.Al Mashat stressed that, amid strengthening ties, both nations are exploring new partnership aspects, including industry and technology localization and enhancing private sector involvement, in line with the Egyptian government's priorities. The minister emphasized that the joint Egyptian-Japanese relations serve as a regional and international model for effective development cooperation based on shared interests.
