Red sea: A total of 14 vessels arrived at and departed from ports operated by the Red Sea Ports Authority on Sunday, August 23, 2026, handling 14,000 tons of cargo, 742 trucks, and 157 vehicles. In a significant logistical operation, the authority reported efficient management of imports and exports across its ports.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Red Sea Ports Authority detailed that the imports involved seven vessels, which collectively transported 4,000 tons of cargo, 317 trucks, and 89 vehicles. On the export front, an equal number of vessels managed the movement of 10,000 tons of cargo, 425 trucks, and 68 vehicles. These operations highlight the pivotal role of the Red Sea ports in facilitating trade and transportation.

Safaga Port was particularly busy, receiving four vessels: POSEIDON EXPRESS, PELAGOS EXPRESS, Al Hurriya, and Al Hurriya 2. Meanwhile, three other vessels-ALCUDIA EXPRESS, PRIDGE, and Amal-departed from the port, contributing to the efficient turnaround of shipping operations.

Nuweiba Port also played a crucial role in the day's activities, handling 5,800 tons of cargo and 283 trucks through shuttle trips conducted by four vessels: Ayla, Al Hussein, Awr, and Sina. This indicates the port's capability to manage substantial cargo volumes and vehicular movements effectively.

Additionally, the ports under the authority's management recorded the arrival and departure of 1,300 passengers, underscoring the ports' role not only in cargo handling but also in facilitating passenger travel.
