Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Expatriate Egyptian Affairs Badr Abdelatty appreciated the pioneering national and academic role played by the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS) at Cairo University in qualifying cadres who have contributed to the development of diplomatic, political, and research work in Egypt and the region. This acknowledgment was made during a lecture delivered by Abdelatty at FEPS, attended by Dr. Mohamed Samy Abdel Sadek, President of Cairo University, Dr. Mamdouh Ismail, Dean of the Faculty, along with the Faculty's staff, lecturers, and students.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty expressed pride in returning to the Faculty from which he graduated and where he was mentored by esteemed professors. He praised the Faculty as one of the most important institutions for economics and political science in the Middle East. Abdelatty emphasized that his presence at Cairo University reflects the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' commitment to engaging with students and youth, driven by the belief in motivating promising youth and affirming their role in shaping the nation's future.
He clarified that the Egyptian state considers youth a national asset and a fundamental driver for comprehensive development. During the lecture, Abdelatty provided an overview of Egyptian foreign policy determinants, discussing regional developments, especially in Gaza, and Egypt's role in supporting the Palestinian cause, along with updates on Sudan, Libya, the Great Lakes region, and the Horn of Africa.
Abdelatty also highlighted the significant progress Egypt has made in various fields over the past decade under the country's leadership, providing opportunities for youth in various sectors. The meeting concluded with an interactive dialogue with students, where the Minister addressed their questions on foreign policy issues. He reaffirmed the commitment to engage with Egyptian university students and enhance their awareness of Egyptian diplomacy's role regionally and internationally, fostering values of belonging and national responsibility among new generations.
