Cairo: The Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), in coordination with the Health Ministry and the Egyptian Embassy in Kinshasa, has dispatched a second shipment of medical aid to the Democratic Republic of Congo to support the country's efforts to strengthen its healthcare system in response to the Ebola outbreak.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the shipment comes as part of Egypt's support for the efforts to contain the spread of the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It includes medicines and medical supplies needed to support the Ebola response, reflecting the coordinated efforts of Egyptian state institutions to implement development cooperation and humanitarian assistance programs for African countries.

The shipment builds on previous assistance provided by the EAPD and underscores Egypt's commitment to supporting African nations in addressing public health challenges, strengthening regional health security, and helping curb the spread of cross-border epidemics and diseases.

The initiative also reflects the agency's continued commitment to supporting development priorities and capacity-building across Africa, in line with Egypt's approach to promoting African cooperation and addressing shared challenges, particularly in the health sector, while advancing sustainable development goals and enhancing health security across the continent.
