Cairo: The foreign ministers of Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip, particularly the targeting of health facilities and infrastructure, attacks on civilian infrastructure, and the continued loss of civilian lives, including women and children, in a grave violation of international law, including international humanitarian law.According to State Information Service Egypt, in a joint statement issued on Thursday, August 6, 2026, the ministers declared that the continuation of such violations constituted a clear breach of Israel's obligations under international law and the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza. They warned that these violations undermine international and regional efforts aimed at implementing the second phase of the plan, especially following US President Donald Trump's announcement that Palestinian factions had accepted the roadmap, including provisions rel ated to the confinement of weapons.The ministers emphasized that these violations threaten to derail the political process, reignite escalation, and deepen the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip. They stressed the importance of protecting civilians, safeguarding medical facilities and personnel in the health and humanitarian sectors, and ensuring the immediate, safe, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian, medical, and relief assistance throughout Gaza, as legal obligations that must be upheld under all circumstances.Furthermore, the ministers pointed out that the ongoing Israeli violations in Gaza cannot be viewed separately from settler attacks in the occupied West Bank, illegal settlement expansion, and unilateral measures aimed at altering the status quo in occupied Jerusalem. They described these actions as part of a systematic policy intended to impose a fait accompli by force, undermine the foundations of the two-state solution, and marginalize the legitimate rights of the Palestinian peop le, in violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions.They renewed their call on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and take effective measures to ensure Israel complies with its obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and to hold those responsible for serious violations accountable.The ministers also reaffirmed their categorical rejection of any attempts to annex occupied Palestinian territory, impose Israeli sovereignty over it, or forcibly displace the Palestinian people. They stressed that the only path to a just and comprehensive peace lies in launching a serious political process leading to the implementation of the two-state solution, including the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
