Cairo: Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat met with Ms. Yuko Mitsui, First Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, to discuss ways to bolster cooperation in technical education development. The meeting was part of the ongoing strategic partnership between Egypt and Japan, which has historically strengthened developmental, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat congratulated Ms. Yuko Mitsui on her upcoming role as Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, set to begin in October 2025. Al-Mashat expressed her hopes for a successful term that would further enhance Japanese-Egyptian cooperation.
Dr. Al-Mashat highlighted Egypt's recent launch of the "National Narrative for Economic Development," which aligns with Vision 2030 and other governmental strategies aimed at transforming the Egyptian economy. The focus is on implementing economic and structural reforms to boost competitiveness.
The meeting also covered Egypt's appreciation for Japan's support through the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Government of Japan, particularly in financing and implementing the Grand Egyptian Museum project.
Both parties explored potential future collaborations in areas such as human capital development, private sector support, regional connectivity, infrastructure enhancement, healthcare facility development, digital transformation, and cultural heritage preservation. The discussions emphasized leveraging artificial intelligence to create a robust ecosystem for comprehensive development in Egypt.
