Asmara: Egypt and Eritrea signed a maritime transport cooperation agreement on Saturday, aiming at enhancing logistical connectivity, supporting trade and investment flows, and deepening economic integration between the two countries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the agreement was formalized during a visit to the Eritrean capital, Asmara, by Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki, underscoring the significance of the accord for both nations.
The maritime transport deal is anticipated to open new avenues for economic and development cooperation. It reflects the efforts of Egypt and Eritrea to strengthen their bilateral ties and capitalize on their strategic positions along the Red Sea.
