Digital Health Strategy Aims for Full Healthcare Coverage by 2030

Cairo: Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar announced the country's national digital health strategy, emphasizing its role in delivering high-quality medical services. The government aims to establish a fully integrated healthcare system that will cover 100% of citizens by 2030.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the national digital health strategy was developed collaboratively by all entities involved in Egypt's healthcare provision. This includes the Ministry of Health and Population, the Egyptian Drug Authority, the Unified Procurement Authority, the Healthcare Authority, and the Universal Health Insurance Authority, alongside the World Health Organization.

The strategy outlines goals and policy frameworks for regulating digital health in Egypt, ensuring that every citizen has an electronic medical record with all relevant health information. Abdel Ghaffar noted that the strategy aims to reduce patient waiting times for services by up to 60%. Digital transformation will occur across all healthcare facilities following necessary infrastructure upgrades, staff training, and the introduction of governing laws and regulations.
