Matrouh: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and his accompanying delegation on Sunday, August 9, 2026, reviewed a proposed site for establishing a smart government services complex and an integrated urban community during a tour of Matrouh Governorate to inspect a number of service and development projects. Madbouly emphasized the importance of the project in providing citizens with advanced smart government services and making optimal use of Matrouh's resources and assets.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly called for the project to adhere to the latest urban planning and sustainable development standards. This initiative is part of efforts to enhance public services and the quality of life, while also bolstering Matrouh's status as a significant tourism and investment destination in Egypt.

Matrouh Governor Mohamed El-Zamlout provided Madbouly with a comprehensive briefing on the proposed project, which is set to be established near the Olympic Village in Marsa Matrouh, covering an area of approximately 128 feddans. The project's objectives include supporting urban development, optimizing land and public asset use, delivering integrated services to both residents and visitors, and enhancing investment prospects in the region.

Zamlout detailed that the project will establish an integrated urban community featuring residential, service, and investment components. This includes a residential area, a hotel, a medical complex, an educational complex, a commercial and administrative zone, a shopping mall, an entertainment area, an amusement park, a public park, a government and administrative complex, a mosque, a nursery complex, and a conference hall. He stated that the project is integral to the governorate's strategy to foster sustainable development, improve land use, attract additional investments, and generate new jobs, all while implementing modern smart urban planning and development standards.
