Rafah: Rafah border crossing in North Sinai received a new group of Palestinians returning to the Gaza Strip on Sunday, August 9, 2026, with the group arriving at the main area of the crossing on the Egyptian side.
According to State Information Service Egypt, procedures were being completed for the new group, the 72nd to return, in preparation for their departure to the Gaza Strip. A team from the Egyptian Red Crescent received the returning Palestinians at the Rafah crossing, facilitating procedures in coordination with the relevant authorities, distributing "return kits," and providing psychological support to children.
Egyptian Red Crescent teams were deployed on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing to provide relief services to the Palestinians. These services included psychological support for children, family reunification services, personal care supplies, and the distribution of "return kits" to those returning to the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Egyptian authorities are preparing to receive a new group of wounded and sick Palestinians from the Gaza Strip for treatment at Egyptian hospitals. The Egyptian Health Ministry has established a medical point at the Rafah crossing to examine arrivals, assess their medical conditions, and transfer them to Egyptian hospitals by equipped ambulances.
