Sharjah: Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Hano announced that Egypt and the UAE are collaborating on three significant cultural projects set to mark a milestone in the cultural field. Hano made these remarks during an interview with MENA at the 16th edition of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival (SCRF 2025).
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Hano praised the pivotal role of Sharjah in supporting Arab culture under the leadership of its Ruler, Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi. He emphasized that his participation in the SCRF's opening reflects Egypt's appreciation for the UAE's persistent efforts in promoting culture, particularly its unwavering support for the Egyptian cultural sector.
Minister Hano described Sultan Al Qasimi as an exceptional figure in Arab culture and knowledge, acknowledging his extensive contributions over the past decades. These contributions include developing cultural infrastructure and supporting Egypt's cultural institutions and events. The minister reiterated his commitment to enhancing cultural activities across various Egyptian governorates and to bolstering Egypt's presence in Arab cultural forums and events.
Hano also highlighted ongoing cultural activities by the ministry in several countries, such as the UAE, Morocco, Tunisia, Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia. "We are working on promoting Egyptian culture across the Arab world and enhancing its regional presence to represent the Egyptian cultural identity as a mirror of creativity, knowledge, and identity," he stated.
Furthermore, Hano revealed that the General Authority for Cultural Palaces is making steady progress toward becoming an integral part of Egypt's cultural landscape. He announced plans to relaunch the children's book fair at Egypt's International Exhibition Center as a standalone event aiming to provide children with a cultural and entertainment experience to discover their talents.
The Sharjah Children's Reading Festival itself offers a variety of activities and events catering to all age groups, including creative workshops, interactive shows, and discussion panels.
