Prime Minister Inaugurates Egypt’s First Submersible Pump Factory

Qalyubia: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated Egypt's first submersible pump production factory at Qaha Chemical Industries Company in Qalyubia Governorate. The factory is affiliated with the Ministry of Military Production.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa affirmed that submersible pumps manufactured by military production companies contribute to adding value to the national economy and reducing import costs. Production at the factory has already begun, with several pumps supplied to drinking water and wastewater companies across various governorates.

For his part, Madbouly emphasized that the state continues to advance efforts to develop Egyptian industry as a key driver of comprehensive economic progress, which in turn supports all other sectors. This, he noted, coincides with ongoing efforts to empower the private industrial sector and remove obstacles to its activities and operations' flourishing by providing a suitable environment, incentives, and support for industrial investment.

He further stressed the state's efforts to foster a culture of added value in Egyptian industry to maximise benefits, through deepening local manufacturing, advancing technology, and generating the highest returns for the economy and citizens. The Egyptian premier highlighted President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's directives to localize industry, build human and infrastructure capacities, strengthen Egypt's industrial capabilities, and integrate research and industrial bodies.

This, he said, aligns with Egypt Vision 2030 to rank among the world's top industrial nations through local manufacturing, and Egyptian products, increasing the proportion of locally sourced components, and adopting the latest manufacturing technologies, particularly in vital sectors. Madbouly underscored the national role of the Ministry of Military Production and its affiliates as a key industrial arm of the state, noting that submersible pumps are essential to lifting stations, wastewater treatment plants, reservoirs and drinking water facilities.

He said demand is especially high for projects under the Decent Life (Haya Karima) presidential initiative to develop rural villages. During the ceremony, a documentary was screened showcasing the manufacturing of submersible pumps with different capacities (30, 37, and 45 kW), highlighting the importance of these pumps, emphasizing their high efficiency and ability to draw water and liquids from deep levels effectively.
