Cairo: Industry Minister Khaled Hashim said on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, Egypt aims to channel more citizens' investments into the industrial sector, focusing on technology transfer, local supply chains, and knowledge-based industries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Hashim shared details during a meeting with officials of the Egyptian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. He outlined four cooperation tracks designed to boost industrial investment. These include launching industrial investment funds, with the first expected this month, and developing an 'Industrial Franchise' model. This model aims to link leading factories with smaller manufacturers and startups, fostering a collaborative industrial ecosystem.
The plan also involves supporting distressed factories by forming investor partnerships and financing small and medium-sized enterprises. A unified digital platform is expected to play a crucial role in this initiative, connecting distressed factories with financiers and investors. This platform will provide a comprehensive database to facilitate partnerships and help restart idle production capacities.
Hashim emphasized that Egypt's industrial strategy through 2030 will focus on integration into global supply chains, strategic and enabling industries, complementary manufacturing, and the circular economy. This long-term vision aims to position Egypt as a significant player in the global industrial landscape.
