Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli began an inspection tour on Thursday to follow up on preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), scheduled for November 1st. During his tour, the Prime Minister assessed the final upgrades to the surrounding infrastructure, including landscaping, lighting, and general appearance enhancements.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister also visited the Sphinx International Airport to inspect completed landscaping projects. This included the planting of palm trees, installation of underground irrigation systems, and new street lighting. Following this, Madbouli traveled along the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road to review a newly installed artistic statue near the toll gate.
Further, the Prime Minister checked the progress at Hazem Hassan Tunnel, El Remaya Square, and sections of Fayoum Road. Here, he noted the completion of paving, lighting, and greenery projects. Additionally, areas around the entrance to the pyramids, including public seating zones, pedestrian walkways, and directional signs, were inspected and confirmed to be ready.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the developments are now complete and set for the global inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, an event expected to elevate Egypt's cultural heritage on the international stage.
