Cairo: Egypt strongly condemned on Sunday, June 21, 2026, the terrorist attack that targeted Niamey International Airport in Niger. The attack resulted in a number of casualties and injuries.
According to State Information Service Egypt, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with the Republic of Niger, both its government and people, in confronting terrorism and all forms of violence and extremism.
Egypt extended its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the government and people of Niger, as well as to the families of the victims, while wishing a speedy recovery for those injured.
The statement also reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to continuing its support for its brothers in the Sahel countries in their efforts to combat terrorism and promote security and stability across the region.
