Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly highlighted the significant focus on the Giza Plateau and its surrounding regions, particularly with the introduction of the Grand Egyptian Museum and ongoing development efforts aimed at enhancing services for visitors and improving the tourist experience in these historical areas.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister convened a meeting at the New Administrative Capital to review the progress of development projects around the Giza Plateau. Madbouly stated that the meeting's purpose was to assess the implementation progress and the initiatives under the tourism master plan for the area surrounding the World Heritage Site at the Giza Plateau. This includes proposals for expanding hotel accommodations and introducing various entertainment and commercial activities to meet visitor demands.
During the meeting, the Minister of Housing outlined the main components of the tourism master plan for the region, emphasizing the economic activities structured on tourism market projections post the Grand Egyptian Museum's opening. The plan anticipates an annual increase in hotel room availability in the Giza Plateau and surrounding areas through to 2040, aligning with the expected rise in tourist traffic. The Minister explained that the plan seeks to balance heritage and modernity, offering an integrated development vision that combines tourism and entertainment to provide a unique visitor experience.
