Grand Mufti and Minister of Youth and Sports Discuss Enhancing Cooperation on Youth Issues

Cairo: Dr. Nazir Muhammad Ayyad, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, welcomed Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, to discuss enhancing cooperation between Dar al-Ifta and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Their discussion focused on addressing youth issues, raising awareness, and tackling negative social phenomena.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Grand Mufti highlighted that the meeting underscores Dar al-Ifta's commitment to fostering partnerships with national institutions to promote awareness and instill values of belonging. He emphasized the vital role of youth in nation-building and shaping the future.

The Grand Mufti also mentioned that Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah has a comprehensive research and academic system dedicated to this goal. He praised the Imam al-Layth ibn Saad Center for the Jurisprudence of Coexistence for promoting the concept of citizenship and showcasing models of coexistence from Islamic history. The Center operates with a profound methodological vision based on Islamic heritage, aiming to address contemporary challenges and foster understanding among different religious and cultural groups.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi expressed his appreciation to the Grand Mufti and Dar al-Ifta for their efforts in intellectual and awareness-raising causes. He emphasized the Ministry's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Dar al-Ifta, recognizing its significant scholarly expertise and its ability to engage young people effectively.

He stated that raising awareness is a strategic objective shared by all state institutions. The Ministry aims to launch programs and initiatives that leverage Dar al-Ifta's efforts in correcting misconceptions and addressing negative phenomena. Both parties agreed to organize workshops and coordination meetings to propose joint work programs and establish implementation mechanisms for future cooperation.
