Higher Education Minister: New Giza University Hospital Opening Embodies Vision of the Egyptian State

Cairo: Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mohamed Ayman Ashour, and Chair of the Supreme Council of University Hospitals delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the university hospital affiliated with New Giza University, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister emphasized that New Giza University exemplifies the vision of the Egyptian state, guided by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to construct a modern, integrated healthcare system. This system aims to meet citizens' needs in line with international standards.

The minister highlighted that the hospital's opening is aligned with the state's strategy and Egypt Vision 2030. This strategy focuses on developing health infrastructure and positioning Egypt as a regional leader in health tourism by offering advanced medical services and qualified staff, contributing to sustainable development.

He remarked that the establishment of the university hospital, with its cutting-edge infrastructure and facilities, signifies a significant advancement in enhancing university hospitals' role in supporting the national health tourism system. This confirms Egypt's capability to compete both regionally and internationally.

Ashour also discussed the expansion of medical faculties in Egypt and their contribution to the national health system. He noted the significant scientific output from these faculties, with the medical sector leading at 23% of the total scientific output.

Furthermore, he pointed out that research in medical sciences at New Giza University accounts for 40.6% of the university's research output, with 20% attributed to pharmaceutical sciences over the past three years, based on data from Elsevier's SciVal database.
