Egyptian and Greek Foreign Ministers Discuss Strategic Partnership and Regional Issues

Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a telephone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, George Gerapetritis, to discuss bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers emphasized the strong relations between Egypt and Greece, particularly following the upgrade of their ties to a strategic partnership. Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's intention to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation with Greece and acknowledged Athens' support for Cairo within European Union institutions.The conversation also addressed regional developments and efforts to alleviate tensions through diplomatic means. Abdelatty outlined Egypt's initiatives aimed at de-escalation and emphasized the importance of supporting negotiations between the US and Iran. The discussions extended to matters concerning Palestine, Libya, and Sudan.In Libya, Abdelatty underscored the nece ssity of advancing the political process, conducting presidential and parliamentary elections, and maintaining the nation's unity and sovereignty. Regarding Sudan, he emphasized the importance of maintaining the country's unity and national institutions while rejecting external interference.The ministers concluded by agreeing to continue their coordination and consultations to support regional stability and reduce tensions.
