SIS Chairman: SIS-NMA Protocol Opens New Prospects For Media Development

Cairo: Chairman of the Board of the State Information Service (SIS) Ambassador Alaa Youssef and Chairman of the National Media Authority (NMA) Ahmed Al-Muslimani signed a cooperation protocol on Sunday, August 16, 2026, in the presence of senior officials from both entities. The protocol aims to strengthen integration through the exchange of expertise and resources, while elevating national media content and enhancing the capabilities of media professionals to meet the highest global standards.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Ambassador Alaa Youssef stated that the protocol represents an important step toward building a sustainable partnership with the National Media Authority (NMA). The collaboration seeks to maximize the benefit of shared expertise and available capabilities, thereby supporting media development and keeping pace with rapid shifts in the global media sector.

He further explained that training and knowledge exchange are key pillars of this cooperation. The agreement provides for joint training programs, workshops, and expert exchanges between the two entities. Utilizing the specialized capabilities of the Maspero Academy, the cooperation covers the efficiency of media professionals and aims to refine their skills in digital media, Artificial Intelligence (AI), foreign languages, media analysis, news production, and editorial design.

The protocol also includes provisions for joint seminars, conferences, and workshops, as well as cooperation in publishing and mutual access to the libraries and resources of both institutions.

Ambassador Alaa Youssef expressed his appreciation for National Media Authority (NMA) Chairman Ahmed Al-Muslimani and the NMA leadership. He affirmed that the newly signed protocol reflects a shared commitment to closer coordination, greater integration, and expanded training and knowledge exchange to advance Egypt's media sector and strengthen its ability to keep pace with the rapid transformations reshaping the industry.
