Beirut: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli stated his visit to Beirut was initiated by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, emphasizing Egypt's commitment to supporting Lebanon across all areas of interest during this critical period for the Arab nation. During an interview with Al-Qahera News, Madbouli highlighted that in his discussions with Lebanese leaders, including Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, President Joseph Aoun, and Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, he conveyed Egypt's full support in political, diplomatic, logistical, and economic domains.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli's meeting with the Lebanese Prime Minister focused on bilateral cooperation, particularly the memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries last month, with a special emphasis on energy sectors such as gas and electricity. Recognizing the challenges Lebanon faces in these areas, Madbouli brought with him ministers responsible for industry, transport, electricity, renewable energy, as well as petroleum and mineral resources to address these critical issues.
The Prime Minister concluded by affirming Egypt's commitment to Lebanon's stability, peace, and unity, and its support for Lebanese authorities in extending sovereignty over all borders and implementing UN Resolution 1701 to cease all acts of aggression. He expressed his hopes for the progress and prosperity of the Lebanese people.
