He underscored Egypt's backing of the UN Security Council's press statement concerning the situation in El Obeid, Sudan, highlighting that actions such as starving civilians, blocking humanitarian aid, and attacking civilian infrastructure are serious breaches of international humanitarian law.The Egyptian envoy condemned ongoing efforts to destabilize Sudan's institutions and establish new circumstances that jeopardize the nation's unity and territorial integrity. He called on the international community to oppose any initiatives that aim to divide Sudan's societal structure or create alternative institutions that falsely assert legitimacy.Ambassador Awad concluded by stressing that maintaining Sudan's unity and safeguarding its national institutions must remain a key focus in any international strategy to tackle the crisis.
