Cairo: Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with UNICEF Representative in Egypt Natalia Rossi and her delegation at the Ministry's headquarters in the New Capital to discuss strengthening cooperation in child health.According to State Information Service Egypt, Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar highlighted the meeting's reaffirmation of UNICEF's role as a key partner in supporting child health programs. These programs include nutrition, immunization, and early childhood development, aligning with Egypt Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.The discussions emphasized enhancing cooperation in primary healthcare and maternal and child health services. They also focused on expanding nutrition and vaccination programs and supporting digital transformation in the health sector. Improving health information systems, data management, and strengthening healthcare resilience in response to crises were key topics.The meeting also addressed expanding community awarenes s initiatives and building the capacity of primary healthcare workers. The importance of increasing the uptake of presidential health initiatives was also stressed.The spokesman noted that the minister praised the ongoing cooperation with UNICEF through both short- and long-term programs. The continuation of this partnership is crucial for improving child health indicators and enhancing services delivered through primary healthcare units.The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers Amr Qandil and Abla El-Alfy, Assistant Deputy Minister Zainab El-Sadr, and Ahmed Abdel Daim, Acting Head of Health at UNICEF.
