Egypt, Poland Hold New Round of Political Consultations

Cairo: Egypt and Poland engaged in a new round of political consultations at Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates, led by Assistant to Foreign Minister for European Affairs Wael Hamed and Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Wojciech Zajaczkowski. The discussions underscored the strengthening momentum in Egyptian-Polish relations across political, economic, and cultural dimensions, especially following the visit of Poland’s foreign minister to Cairo in April 2025.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the talks highlighted Poland’s significant role within Egypt’s strategy to enhance ties with Central European nations. Warsaw’s growing influence within the European Union and its importance as a key European ally for Cairo were emphasized. The discussions centered on boosting economic and investment cooperation amid increasing interest from Polish companies in the Egyptian market, focusing on opportunities in industry, energy, infrastructure, logistics, and technological transformation.

The Egyptian delegation detailed recent infrastructure development, investment climate reforms, and legislative updates designed to support the private sector, reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to facilitating Polish companies looking to expand or initiate new investments in the country. Both sides also exchanged perspectives on regional and international developments in Europe and the Middle East, stressing the need for ongoing political coordination to promote regional stability and diplomatic resolutions to crises.

At the conclusion of the consultations, both parties agreed to sustain the positive momentum in bilateral ties and to intensify communication and coordination in the coming period to advance mutual interests. Additionally, an Egyptian-Polish business forum was held, featuring broad participation from business representatives and economic institutions from both nations.

The forum convened 22 Polish companies from various vital economic sectors, serving as a platform to explore investment opportunities and strengthen direct business-to-business cooperation. During the forum, Wael Hamed stated that Egypt views Poland as a key partner in Central Europe and a critical pillar in enhancing relations with the European Union, highlighting Egypt’s economic and structural reforms and readiness to support long-term economic partnerships between the two countries.
