Islamabad: Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met on Sunday, November 30, 2025, with leaders of Pakistani chambers of commerce and industry and executives of companies operating in Egypt on Saturday, seeking to expand bilateral trade and investment. Abdelatty highlighted opportunities to increase Egyptian exports to Pakistan in sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food products, fertilizers, and engineering goods. He also invited Pakistani companies to invest in Egypt, citing reforms in the investment climate and promising opportunities across multiple sectors.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister underscored potential collaboration in localizing priority industries, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, software, and digital services. He also noted the economic significance of the Suez Canal, which offers investment advantages and tax and customs exemptions for foreign investors. Abdelatty has embarked on a visit to Islamabad to hold bilateral meetings with senior Pakistani officials and representatives of major companies. The visit aims to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional and international developments.
