Cairo: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates has issued a call for citizens both at home and abroad to utilize official channels when seeking consular assistance. This announcement comes in response to a growing number of cases where Egyptians have sought help from unofficial sources other than the ministry and Egyptian embassies and consulates overseas regarding issues affecting them or their relatives living abroad.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministry highlighted that it provides several official channels for consular assistance, addressing various issues such as labor disputes, repatriation of deceased Egyptians, and checking on relatives living abroad. Egyptians residing abroad are encouraged to visit the nearest Egyptian diplomatic mission or consulate, or to contact the hotline of the relevant embassy or consulate, with contact details available on their official pages.
For Egyptians within the country, the ministry advises visiting the Consular Affairs Department in Garden City during official working hours, or reaching out to the ministry's central hotline via WhatsApp at 01226858000 throughout the week. The ministry reiterated its appeal for citizens to directly use these designated official channels to ensure swift and effective responses to their consular cases, requests, and services.
