Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly chaired a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the government headquarters in the New Capital to discuss a range of political, economic, and social issues on the government's agenda. The meeting aimed at finding ways to implement presidential directives effectively and within appropriate timelines. The cabinet is set to review regional developments and Madbouly's recent visits to the Suez Canal Economic Zone, where he inaugurated several factories.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting also focused on addressing efforts to curb inflation and increase spending on healthcare, education, and social protection. Measures to stabilize markets and ensure the availability of food commodities were also on the agenda. The cabinet will review progress on national projects across Egypt, including efforts to expand social protection, enhance education and healthcare, promote investment and exports, and localize industry as part of Egypt's Vision 2030.

The discussions included previously adopted measures related to investment, industry, and exports, expanding agricultural land, making industrial land available to investors, and refining social security and tax policy. The meeting also covered development programs across state sectors, measures to support low-income citizens, and ensuring their needs are met effectively.
