Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani to discuss the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Bahrain, as well as the latest regional developments and their repercussions for the security and stability of the region.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the call came as part of continued consultations and coordination between the two countries. The two ministers underscored the depth of the bilateral ties between Egypt and Bahrain and hailed the level of cooperation between the two countries in various fields. They expressed their keenness on further advancing bilateral relations and expanding areas of cooperation during the coming period.
They also exchanged views on the latest regional developments, stressing the importance of maintaining close coordination and consultations at the current stage. Meantime, the two sides underscored the need to step up efforts to de-escalate tensions and contain any escalation in a way that would contribute to safeguarding the security and stability of the region.
