Cairo: Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Information Systems and Digital Transformation Amr Ayed and Assistant Minister for National Projects Sherif Mostafa conducted a meeting with representatives from Orange and STM to assess the progress of digital transformation initiatives in the health sector.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Health Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar stated that the discussions focused on strengthening collaboration to enhance Egypt's digital health infrastructure. The aim is to align with the national digital transformation strategy and improve healthcare service quality and efficiency.
The meeting reviewed current advancements in digital health projects, emphasizing the creation of an integrated system for secure and efficient medical information exchange. This system is intended to enhance service delivery, expedite clinical decision-making, and improve patient experiences.
Discussions also explored the use of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies to bolster healthcare delivery, operational efficiency, resource management, and service quality. Plans include establishing a unified electronic medical record for each patient, designed to facilitate information sharing and improve diagnosis and treatment precision.
Abdel Ghaffar highlighted that AI applications will support, not replace, healthcare professionals in medical decision-making. Ayed and Mostafa emphasized the need for timely project execution, close coordination with the partnering companies, and adherence to high technical standards, contributing to the ministry's goal of developing a sophisticated digital healthcare system for citizens.
