Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly affirmed full coordination between the government and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) as part of preparations for the National Economic Transformation Program, based on an integrated vision reflecting the state's economic priorities for the coming period.According to State Information Service Egypt, this initiative is being implemented in accordance with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives. The goal is to ensure the integration of economic, fiscal, monetary, and sectoral policies and measures, while achieving a tangible impact on the national economy. Madbouly made these remarks during a meeting with CBE Governor Hassan Abdalla at the government headquarters in New Alamein City.The meeting was part of regular coordination between the government and CBE to follow up on priority economic issues and discuss mechanisms for strengthening financial and monetary stability. Several issues related to the performance of the Egyptian economy were reviewed, including ef forts to reduce inflation rates, increase dollar inflows, and strengthen the state's foreign currency reserves. The meeting also confirmed that Egypt maintains safe levels of foreign currency reserves, capable of securing the country's strategic needs for essential commodities.Continuous efforts are being made to strengthen strategic stocks of commodities through ongoing coordination between the government and the Central Bank. For his part, Abdalla stated that the CBE Board of Directors had approved regulations for the Digital Financial Identity System. This system enables banks to identify customers and verify their identities electronically, supporting digital transformation and promoting financial inclusion.He explained that the regulations provide an integrated framework for services under the Digital Financial Identity System, covering governance, roles and responsibilities, technical requirements, data protection, and cybersecurity measures. This is intended to ensure that services are delivered se curely and efficiently, in line with international best practices.
