Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly emphasized the necessity of monitoring the progress and completion of the first phase of the presidential initiative 'Decent Life'. This initiative is focused on developing villages in the Egyptian countryside, and Madbouly highlighted the importance of preparing completed projects for operation to benefit citizens.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly's comments were made during a meeting held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the government headquarters in New El Alamein City. The meeting included key figures such as Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population; Kamel el Wazir, Minister of Transport; Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance; Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity; and Randa el Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities.

Madbouly underscored President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's commitment to the initiative, noting its significant role in transforming the Egyptian countryside and enhancing service quality for citizens. This initiative aligns with the state's broader development goals.

A report presented during the meeting detailed the progress of the first phase, which covers 1,477 villages. Work is being finalized on projects across several governorates, with 57 villages having completed all necessary works between July 12 and August 24, 2026. To date, 907 villages have seen full completion of targeted projects under this phase.

The meeting also assessed the status of ongoing projects across various sectors in the targeted villages. In total, 23,741 projects have been completed, with 18,195 handed over for operation and service provision.

Plans for the second phase of the 'Decent Life' initiative were also reviewed, focusing on achieving effective coordination among relevant authorities to ensure successful implementation.
