Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Migration Dr. Badr Abdelatty, held a telephone call on Friday with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi. The discussion was part of the ongoing consultations and strategic coordination between the two nations regarding regional developments and issues of mutual interest.According to State Information Service Egypt, the call focused on the situation in the Gaza Strip. Both ministers underscored the necessity of adhering to the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan, ensuring the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid, and initiating the early recovery phase. They emphasized creating a conducive environment for reconstruction and the transition to long-term stability.The two sides also stressed the importance of supporting the National Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip, which facilitates the Palestinian Authority's resumption of its full responsibilities within the Strip. Furthermore, they affirmed their support for the deployment of an international stabilization force to monitor ceasefire implementation.The two ministers discussed the upcoming Peace Council meeting in Washington. They reviewed ongoing Arab and Islamic coordination to ensure the full implementation of President Trump's plan and affirmed their support for the President's principled stance rejecting the annexation of the West Bank. In this context, the ministers emphasized the necessity of preserving the territorial integrity of the West Bank and Gaza. They reiterated the need for a clear political horizon leading to an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution and international law.The ministers also warned against illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, noting that such actions exacerbate tensions and undermine de-escalation efforts. Concluding their call, they reviewed th e broader regional landscape, stressing the importance of prioritizing diplomatic solutions to prevent the expansion of conflict and ensure the security and stability of the Arab world.
