Cairo: Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif accompanied Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Matsumoto Yuhei on a tour of the Shinzo Abe Axis in Cairo, where they posed for a commemorative photo. The site symbolizes the depth of Egypt-Japan relations and the enduring partnership between the two countries. During the visit, Abdel Latif presented Minister Matsumoto with a message of thanks from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the family of the late Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, recognizing Abe's pivotal role in strengthening Egypt-Japan friendship and cooperation since 2014. This relationship, he said, laid the foundation for the expansion of bilateral ties and joint development initiatives.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdel Latif expressed appreciation for the productive discussions with his Japanese counterpart, noting a shared agreement on enhancing cooperation in curriculum development, programming and artificial intelligence education, vocational and technical training, and human capacity building. He emphasized that Japan's educational system serves as a model for aligning education with comprehensive development goals and labor market needs.
Minister Matsumoto praised the warm reception accorded to him in Egypt and described his trip to the country as highly successful. He reaffirmed Japan's commitment to sustaining and expanding collaborative programs, particularly in light of his meeting with President Sisi. Both sides agreed to continue supporting existing cooperation frameworks while exploring new avenues for partnership, including sharing Japanese expertise in quality standards, institutional discipline, and skill development to prepare a competitive workforce capable of meeting regional and global challenges.
