Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelattey held a phone call with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Giorgos Gerapetritis, within the framework of ongoing communication and coordination between the two friendly countries to discuss ways to advance bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional issues.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers affirmed the growing momentum in Egyptian-Greek relations across various fields, in light of the strategic partnership that unites the two countries. The two sides expressed their keenness to continue building upon the outcomes of high-level visits and communications to enhance cooperation in the political and economic spheres, serving the common interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.
The two ministers also exchanged views on several regional issues and developments, most notably the course of the US-Iranian negotiations, as well as the developments in Libya and the Gaza Strip. The two top diplomats emphasized the importance of continuing close coordination and consultation on these matters, which contributes to supporting efforts to de-escalate tensions, enhance security and stability in the region, and safeguard the common interests of both countries.
