Djibouti: Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, highlighted the nation's commitment to deepening economic and trade relations with Djibouti during a series of strategic meetings held with Djiboutian government ministers. The discussions focused on strengthening African connectivity and integration, particularly in maritime transport, ports, and logistics services, as Egypt views Djibouti as a crucial strategic partner in these domains.According to State Information Service Egypt, El-Wazir emphasized the potential for increasing the presence of Egyptian companies in Djibouti and Egypt's readiness to supply the Djiboutian market with essential goods, including vegetables, fruits, and various food products. The meetings also underscored Egypt's willingness to offer training courses to develop Djiboutian skills in multiple fields such as technical and craft training.In discussions with Djibouti's Minister of Agriculture, Water , Fisheries, and Livestock, Mohamed Ahmed Awaleh, the Egyptian side expressed interest in cooperation on deep-sea fishing and aquaculture. Djibouti showed interest in leveraging Egyptian expertise in smart agriculture, modern irrigation, and agricultural greenhouses, alongside training local youth to initiate small projects in these areas.El-Wazir also met with Djibouti's Minister of Trade and Tourism, Mohamed Warsame Dirieh. The dialogue praised the recent increase in trade exchange between the two nations and stressed the importance of further expanding trade volume. The Djiboutian minister highlighted the potential for collaboration in the tourism sector, particularly in training Djiboutian youth in hospitality and management, benefiting from Egypt's extensive experience in the field.Further discussions with Djibouti's Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industry, Elias Moussa Doualeh, focused on enhancing trade and investments. The official opening of Banque Misr Djibouti was noted as a significant mile stone, alongside discussions about forming the Egyptian-Djiboutian Business Council. Additionally, Djibouti expressed interest in Egyptian manufacturing capabilities, particularly in medical supplies, and sought cooperation in vocational and technical education.These meetings were attended by Ambassador Abdel Rahman Raafat of Egypt and Engineer Mohamed Fathy, Assistant Minister for Maritime Transport, reflecting the collaborative spirit and mutual interest in strengthening bilateral ties.
