Egypt and Armenia Prepare for Sixth Joint Committee Session on Economic and Scientific Cooperation

Cairo: Egypt and Armenia have initiated an expanded preparatory meeting of experts in anticipation of the sixth session of the Egyptian-Armenian Joint Committee for Economic, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, which is set to be held in Cairo. The session will be co-chaired by Egypt's Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, alongside Armenia's Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the preparatory meeting assembled representatives from various Egyptian ministries and national authorities. These included sectors such as foreign affairs, investment, agriculture, electricity and renewable energy, culture, higher education, health, communications, the public business sector, and agencies responsible for free zones and small and medium-sized enterprises. During the meeting, experts reviewed key areas for bilateral cooperation, covering trade, investment, agriculture, energy, culture, higher education, sports, health, communications and information technology, pharmaceuticals, and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Technical working groups focused on identifying challenges, updating proposals, and exploring methods to expand trade and attract joint investments. Additionally, they discussed the implementation of practical initiatives. Egyptian officials emphasized the strengthening bilateral relationships, driven by leadership-level engagement and an increase in official visits, highlighting the committee's role as a vital platform for enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors.

The preparatory meetings are designed to ensure that the upcoming ministerial session yields actionable outcomes, including the formal adoption of the joint committee's protocol and plans for concrete joint projects.
